Meet some of our High School Mentors

Hi! I am Treana Vickery, a junior at LASA High School. My interests in school include history, social studies, and languages in addition to a passion for science & math. Outside of school, I tutor kids in Spanish and volunteer at Manos de Cristo where I teach immigrants from Latin America how to use computers. In my free time, I love running, swimming, reading, arts & crafts and watching movies. I can’t wait to tutor your child!

Hi! My name is Grace Ford. I am a sophomore at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Austin, TX. Prior to LASA, I attended an IB language immersion school where I became fluent in Spanish and dabbled in Mandarin. My favorite subjects are history and science. I stay active as a distance runner on LASA’s track team and enjoy running in my free time. I also participate in Youth and Government, Chinese Club, and the Banned Books Club. I am an avid reader and particularly like historical fiction and fantasy. I am in my second year of tutoring. I enjoy working with students one-on-one to help them master topics that they find challenging.

Hi! My name is Esther Kwan, and I am a sophomore at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy. I partake in my school’s robotics team, Purple Haze, and marching band as a clarinetist of 5 years. Additionally, I serve in Student Council as the Class of 2026 Treasurer. When I am not crocheting or making crafts, I can be found spending time with my rabbit, Mocha. I feel passionately towards equity in education because ensuring the success of all students allows for a brighter future, which is why I am grateful for this mentoring opportunity at the Higher Orbit Foundation.

Hi! My name is Chandana Dubakula and I’m a junior at LASA High School. I joined Higher Orbit because I love teaching others and helping them find a passion for learning! My favorite subjects are math and science. I also love reading and dancing in my free time. I look forward to tutoring to help students grow!

I am also a co-founder of the LASA Research Club and the Higher Orbit Foundation and a Cho Dan (1st degree black belt) in Tang Soo Do. I am excited to mentor as I believe in the power of learning and education.
