We would like to establish a positive, supportive, and safe culture so all participants can have a fulfilling experience. We therefore expect everyone to contribute to the development of a constructive and collaborative environment and mindset.

Behaviors that will not be tolerated include:

• physical misbehavior such as hitting, shoving etc.
• verbal misbehavior such as name-calling, teasing, cursing, or anything else deemed inconsistent with the expectations outlined here or deemed inappropriate by the Higher Orbit Foundation officers
• covert or overt aggression or harassment or bullying of any kind

Consequences may include:

• cancellation of scheduled support sessions
• conferences with parents and/or teachers
• expulsion from the mentoring program

As the participants in this program come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, we urge that all participants – mentors, mentees, and other volunteers and officers – be mindful of the sensitivities of each other in their approach, speech, expectations, and dress to ensure that this is a rewarding experience for everyone. Our foundation recognizes that individuals and organizations operate in different orbits and that the experiences we design and share would hopefully move us all into a higher orbit.
